![]() I steered away from the 'mat' slides after I slipped and fell getting on one, and saw someone else do the same a few minutes later (I guess that will happen in a water park). We had to try it once, but stuck mostly to the tube-slides. The most challenging ride was the Hurricane, which has a similar effect to being flushed-down a toilet into an eight-foot pool. OB was easy to navigate, had awesome water slides, an area for toddlers and babies, and a great wave pool. I think it was only about $45!!? That's less than what I've paid on a daily admission at many other water parks. Residents get a great deal on a season's pass. They obviously make their $ from concessions, as your bags are searched dilligently upon entering for contraban such as food and drink. There's a 15% discount for AAA members and on-line coupons. ![]() OB was a great bargain compared to other parks. We had originally planned to visit Busch Gardens, but once down there, we couldn't imagine standing in those long lines dripping in sweat. Beach, and was advised to visit Ocean Breeze by a local. Let the smokers smoke outside the park so that the rest of us can enjoy all the attractions with a breath of fresh air. ![]() My family and I will not be returning to Ocean Breeze water park since its' pro-smoking atmosphere make the entire experience unpleasant. The staff was very friendly and the rides were great but everything was marred by a cloud of noxious smoke that greeted you every time you moved. It is a shame that the rights of addicts trump those of everyone else at Ocean Breeze. To tout this place as kid and family friendly and yet encourage smokers to pollute the lungs of anyone unfortunate enough to be near them is hypocritical. My son, who has asthma, was constantly having to avoid the smokers who had no consideration for anyone but themselves. Even here there were people lighting up next to kids running around. There were smokers by the lockers, by the food venues, by the water rides and even in the kidddie section, the only place I even saw a non-smoking sign. Apparently, Ocean Breeze is a smoker-friendly paradise. While the rides were fun and the staff was friendly we were appalled by the amount of cigarette smoke everywhere. My family and I visited Ocean Breeze Water Park last summer and were sadly disappointed. At many of the food stations there were many workers, it just didn’t seem that anyone was in charge because it was consistently unorganized & a lot of workers just standing around not doing much except talking to one another. We literally ate the salad with a spoon, a knife & our fingers. We also ordered a salad & as we proceeded to sit down to eat, we needed a fork for the salad & no plastic fork could be found. ![]() We waited at least ten minutes for a hotdog meal & that seemed ridiculous. They had many choices on the electronic menu above, but as we prceeded through the short line, not all choices were actually prepared & ready to grab. The issue at the first place was that they could not provide me my order choice because “the cashier was not there yet so they were looking for anothet cashier on site to come & work the register.” Okay… we moved on to the main food are near the entrance. The food was good in terms of quality it is what you expect from reading the menu options on the website, etc. Important to note: Cabanas and chocolate-covered frozen bananas sell out fast. The theme park, itself, is well-staffed, with numerous lifeguards and workers however, the two times we went to get food, it was not a good experience. Friday and Sunday evening are also quiet times to visit. Water shoes are allowed on the rides and are a smart idea for protecting little (and big!) feet and toes.įor the quietest time to visit get to Ocean Breeze on Monday mornings when tourists are still at the beach. Families of small children can play together in Buccaneer Bay, the Water Playground and the Runway Bay Wave Pool. Best of all parents can ride too!).Ĭhildren can ride in front of their parents on kiddie caverns and Grape Escape. The littlest kids have been kept in mind too with rides created just for them: Little Amazon (an easy, lazy river), Buccaneer Bay Water Playground (specifically created for the 48 inch and under crowd) and the Silly Slides (a trio of slides that plop kids into a shallow pool. Kids 12 and under will love this very fun water park that boasts 16 water slides, a one million gallon wave pool and an exciting Jungle Falls. When you’re tired of the sand and your kids have that “now what?” look on their faces head for the Ocean Breeze Waterpark just five minutes from the Virginia Beach strip. ![]()
